Description

The AVIAR system is to help treat patients with vascular diseases. The current focus is the PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention) to treat cardiovascular diseases, which are one of the top causes of death worldwide. AVIAR combines advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, robotics, and biomaterial to improve the outcome of intervention procedures and reduce radiation exposure through remote operations. We pursue beyond the limits of conventional manual techniques and better implementation of robotic intervention procedures. Reduced radiation on clinicians and patients The physician console and the procedure robot are separated to minimize radiation exposure to the clinician. In addition, intelligent haptic control helps to reduce the operation time and the radiation dose on the patient. Reduced inter-operator variance The advanced haptic interface and information integration better assist complex procedures reducing proficiency dependence Key Features Innovative haptic interface The haptic interface provides clinicians with augmented situation awareness for improved safety and efficiency during the procedure. Unlike general-purpose haptic interfaces, our haptic device, specially designed for vascular intervention instrument manipulation, provides optimal control of the instruments with various haptic feedback. Unique multi-channel mechanism A more comprehensive range of complex PCI procedures is enabled through a unique design multi-channel mechanism. Two guidewires can be operated simultaneously. Guidewires with different diameters and various instruments can be mounted and operated efficiently.
