The shape of the crowns should represent the tooth but be reduced in size. While modelling care should be taken that no sharp corners or edges are formed. These could later result in cracks in the veneer ceramic. For reasons of mechanical stability and leaking of the casting, the crown wall thickness should not be less than 0.4 mm in metal-ceramic work.
