This Oral Fluid Swab is a simple yet effective device for the collection of saliva. The device is non-invasive and user friendly, making the acquisition of saliva via the foam swab a simple process.
Designed to be used in a similar way to a toothbrush, saliva is collected by rubbing the soft but abrasive sponge swab firmly along the gumline. The slight abrasive nature encourages the extraction of gingival crevicular fluid (GCF contains high IgG concentration).
The S11 is presented individually pouched with no outer container, allowing the swab to be easily incorporated into testing kits, and help aid sample collection where other methods, such as pooled saliva collection, do not work as efficiently for certain individuals (e.g. paediatric / geriatric patients).
Due to the varied nature of this product, instructions for use are not provided.
