Master Bond EP42HT-2Med is a two-part epoxy ideal for medical devices requiring repeated sterilization. It offers convenient 100:40 by weight or 100:50 by volume mixing, good flow, moderate viscosity, and a long working life, curing at room temperature or faster with heat (optimal: overnight RT plus 2-4 hours at 150-250°F). This solvent-free system exhibits very low shrinkage and bonds strongly to diverse substrates (metals, composites, ceramics, glass, plastics, rubbers). It provides excellent resistance to chemicals and sterilants, along with superior electrical and thermal insulation. Its low exotherm allows encapsulation up to 3 inches. Featuring a high Tg, it withstands -60°F to 450°F. The cured epoxy is optically clear, making it a prime choice for endoscopes, surgical instruments, and other medical devices facing frequent sterilization.
