Available in granules or blocks (cancellous, cortical, or cortico-cancellous). Used to fill voids and gaps not essential to bone stability. Applicable to extremities, spine, pelvis, or cranium. Can be pressed into voids or surgical sites by hand. Acts as a temporary support medium. Not intended to provide structural support during healing. Radio-opaque, biocompatible, and resorbable as bone ingrowth occurs.
