Silicone Nasal Splints are harp-shaped moulding that are manufactured from a silicone elastomer which is biocompatible, latex and phthalate-free. A range of designs and sizes are available to satisfy various surgical techniques for insertion and to facilitate short term use in the nasal cavity. All designs are presented sterile and non-sterile. Note: Medasil Silicone Nasal Splints are intended to be used in a Health Care Setting where they are inserted in several post-operative surgical procedures. Intended Use: Medasil Silicone Nasal Splints are designed to support the nasal septum, to minimise the adhesion risk between septum and lateral nasal wall, stabilize the healing septum and provide septal compression, which may mitigate postoperative bleeding. The device is intended for short term use only (up to 29 days). Indications for Use Indications include, but are not limited to: Submucosal resection (S.M.R) Nasal Polypectomy Rhinoplasty Septoplasty Medasil Silicone Nasal Splints can be used for most applications previously treated with B.I.P.P ribbon gauze or similar packs.
