The Guedel Airways are moulded from high quality material (LLDPE) which is chemically inert, biocompatible and free from latex or phthalates. The one-piece moulding is uniform, with smooth, seamless, semi-rigid external surface, with curved anatomical contours for ease of use. The hollow construction facilitate efficient airflow through the lumen. The integral bite-block reinforcement is resistant to distortion in the event of involuntary biting. The colour-coded Bite block conforms to established convention, for ease of identification of product size. Multiple size (length) options to accommodate all patient groups – neonatal to adult.
Intended Use:
The Guedel Oropharyngeal Airway is a medical device used in the maintenance and management of breathing for an unconscious or anaesthetised patient. Inserted in the mouth, and extending to the base of the tongue, the device is designed to open or maintain a patent airway by supporting the tongue, to prevent partial or total obstruction and maintaining a patent airflow through the central lumen of the device. Airways are available in a wide range of sizes to accommodate the oropharyngeal anatomy of all patient groups from neonatal and paediatric to adult, and each size is clearly colour-coded to aid identification. The Guedel Airway is an established design routinely chosen by Health Care Professionals, and is used in conjunction with oxygen masks, ventilation bags etc to establish or maintain respiratory function
