The T Cu 380 has been created for family planning in families that already contain one or more children. This device is comprised of a bendable radiopaque polyethylene body. Two horizontal copper collars are located on the Cervix ® T Cu 380 and each contains about 66.5 mg. of copper. The copper coil is around the instrument's vertical arm contains about 176 mg. of copper. Copper is pumped continuously into the uterine cavity for maximum effect. This particular device is sterilized by ethylene oxide and has a life span of around 8 years after having been inserted into the body.
