The titanium button is used for trans-osseus sutures of the caul to support the node when the bone is soft. It may be used for all trans-osseous sutures by U-threading in which the bone is soft (fractures of the trocheter, tuberosity, etc.).
Thread to use
Any nylon thread, but it must be sufficiently resistant so as not to be quickly cut in two by the button.
Why titanium ?
In order to permit modern post-operative imaging via a scanner or M.R.I.
Noteworthy : The width of the button for the shoulder is very small, so there is no conflict with the trochiter and no protrusion.
