The humeral nail of Medimetal was developed to treat variously located diaphyseal fractures. Besides, the simpler upper third fractures can also be treated as the proximal end of the nail provides three horizontal and an oblique locking positions. Its insertion is possible both from anterograde- and from retrograde directions.
Design of the implants
The humeral nail is a slightly curved nail, which allows its easy insertion. The required diameters and lengths are available. Both solid and cannulated versions can be ordered. The proximal end has four locking direction; the oblique locking direction points towards the tuberculum maius. For the distal locking AP- and lateral holes are available.
