The CRP Latex is a qualitative and semi-quantitative immunoassay for the determination of C-reactive protein (CRP) in human serum. The CRP Latex is intended as an aid in the diagnosis of inflammatory, infective and ischemic conditions in conjunction with other clinical and laboratory findings. The immunoassay is designed for manual professional in vitro diagnostic use.
Diagnostic Relevance
C-reactive protein (CRP), the classic acute-phase of human serum, is normally present only in trace amounts in serum. In response to injury or infection however, it can increase as much as 1,000-fold. Clinical measurement of CRP therefore, has become a valuable screening procedure for organic disease and a sensitive index of disease activity in inflammatory, infective and ischemic conditions.
