Diagnostic Relevance
Rotaviruses and Adenoviruses are the major causative agents of infectious gastroenteritis, which are transmitted via faecal-oral contact. With watery diarrhea and vomiting being the major symptoms, other symptoms like fever and abdominal cramps may occur, but they generally last for 3, and 5 – 8 days for Rotavirus and Adenovirus respectively.
