MicroPort Orthopedics acetabular cup systems have established clinical heritage built on over 25 years of clinical presence.
The Prime acetabular cup system is the next step in the evolution of the successful Dynasty® acetabular cup system. The system is optimized for a highly cross-linked ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene bearing surface, eliminating the compromises associated with modularity to accommodate alternative bearing surfaces. By focusing on a singular bearing surface, the shell has also been optimized for modern fixation surfaces. Designed with simple, versatile instrumentation, the system can be used with a variety of surgical approaches.
DESIGN FEATURES
BioFoam® cancellous titanium
Provides immediate initial fixation and acts as an osteoconductive matrix to promote biological fixation
Optimized Screw hole design
Position of the screw holes creates divergent fixation, while the geometry of the hole allows for 18° of screw angulation (9° off axis) without interference with liner insertion
Robust locking mechanism
Working in conjunction with low-profile, self positioning anti-rotation tabs, this feature maximizes push-out strength while allowing for easy liner insertion and multiple liner configuration options
Optimized head to shell ratio
Offers increased jump distance for dislocation without any compromise to liner thickness, which promotes joint stability
Minimized shell thickness
Decreases stiffness of the implant, discourages stress-shielding, and allows for optimized liner thickness
Square impaction dimple
Provides rotational stability and control to simplify implantation
