Description

The monoclonal actin (clone C4) is a mouse IgG1 (gamma 1 heavy/kappa light chain) antibody. The monoclonal actin (clone C4) is a mouse IgG1 (gamma 1 heavy/kappa light chain) antibody. Chicken gizzard actin was used as the immunogen. Immunoblots demonstrate specificity directed towards all actins ranging from yeast, to flies, to mouse, to man. These are skeletal alpha-actin, cardiac alpha-actin, smooth muscle gamma actin, cytoplasmic beta-actin, cytoplasmic gamma actin as well as Dictyostelium discoideum and Physarum olycephalum actins. The epitope for the antibody lies between residues 18-40, a highly conserved region of the molecule. This antibody can also be used for cells cultivated on slides, for frozen tissue sections and as a loading control for western blots. Application Notes Actin Monoclonal Antibody was used for western blot analysis of Cos-7 cell lysates to ensure equal protein loading. Western blot analysis of MDCK cell lysates were performed using monoclonal anti-actin antibody as a primary antibody. Also It's used in Indirect ELISA, Immunofluorescence, Immunoblots and Immunohistochemistry.
