Rapid V. Cholerae O139 Test is an immunochromatographic membrane assay that uses highly sensitive antibodies to detect V. cholerae antigens in stool sample, environmental water or solid food specimens. The reagent pad of the test strip contains colored colloidal gold conjugated with monoclonal antibodies against V. cholerae O139 antigens. The reaction membrane contains the secondary antibodies for V. cholerae O139 antigens, which are pre-immobilized in the test line.
This test is only to be used by healthcare professionals. It cannot be used alone as the basis for the diagnosis and exclusion of cases.
