Kalos is a new generation cough assistant designed to meet the needs of patients with pathologies that inhibit cough ca-pacity. Kalos is the answer to a growing awareness of the need to employ different techniques to improve both the efficacy of airways clearance therapy and the patient’s compliance. Integrated with the cough-assistance function, Kalos also enables deep mucus clearance of the airways through the Expiratory Flow Accelerator (EFA) technology, the possibility of performing pulmonary reexpansion maneuvers with the Constant Pressure function, and the ability to check if the patient’s cough is effective through a peak expiratory flow indicator. Using Kalos is easy and intuitive since all the functions available are displayed together on a color display and can be selected with just one selector. Equipped with an internal battery, lightweight and small in size, Kalos is easy to use both for the health care provider and for the caregiver.
