ADAM-rWBC ensures the number of residual leukocyte meets the standards used to minimize complications associated with the transfusions performed in hospitals. All procedures are automated once the sample loaded slide is inserted into the device. It takes only 3 minutes to count the residual leukocytes. In combination with a disposable microfluidic slide, the operation of ADAM-rWBC is extremely simple and cost-effective. Warm-up time and messy cleaning are no longer necessary.

ADAM-rWBC is a precise, automated optical system capable of fluorescent image analysis. ADAM-rWBC use propidium iodide (PI) staining. The ADAM-rWBC automatically focuses on the slide and the stained cells are taken by the movement of the automatic X-Y stage. The ADAM-rWBC analyzes and reports a result in using integral image analysis software. By averaging results, ADAM-rWBC produces accurate counting results in the analysis of the low concentration of leukoreduced blood products. Automated cell counting eliminates user bias or subjective interpretation that can be found when counting residual leukocytes using other methods.
