The most outstanding feature of this product is the tabs that hold it in place. A gentle hydrocolloid adhesive attaches the tabs to the patient’s temples; these tabs then attach to the NeoShades via low-noise hook fabric that is unlikely to disturb the patient when the NeoShades need to be adjusted. The cute sunglasses design adds a touch of fun. Preparation Step 1 Select proper size. Approximate sizing: Micro – 28 weeks and under Small – 29-36 weeks Large – 37 weeks and up Step 2 Clean and dry skin on temples per hospital protocol. Note: It is important for skin to be as clean and dry as possible. Hydrocolloid adhesive tabs will not adhere properly to moist skin or hair. Oils and lotions will adversely affect adhesion. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL. Application Step 1 Carefully remove hydrocolloid tabs from eye shields. Before removing plastic liners, hydrocolloid adhesive tabs must be actively warmed. Warming techniques include: hold between the palms of your hands for at least 60 seconds, hold near a radiant warmer for 10-15 seconds, or hold against a chemical heel warmer for 10-15 seconds. Step 2 Peel and discard plastic liners. Place hydrocolloid adhesive tabs on temples and hold in place for 60 seconds to ensure proper adhesion.
