The plant is designed for on-site installation in urban hospitals, hospitals lacking connection to sewerage systems and urban water treatment plants. The disinfection system is particulary dedicated to the wastewater treatment of authoptic rooms. SWT-ASW ensures the mechanical treatment and final chemical disinfection of wastewater without producing potentially infectious sludge and harmful compounds thanks to the use of peracetic acid as disinfectant (sodium hypochlorite or chlorine dioxide can be used as well). The plant is completely automatic and does not require continuous supervision. Staff only needs to carry out checks at predefined times and refill the disinfectant tank.
STAGE 1: Primary sedimentation
At first the sedimentable solids are removed from the raw wastewater, which is partially clarified before entering the next stages. The tank has a predefined volume in order to obtain the correct hydraulic retention time (HRT). The transferring pump system, under PLC control, modulates the plant flow rate and transfers the wastewater to the separator tank.
STAGE 2: Separation - Sludge dewatering
In the separation tank the sludge is separated from the water. The sludge is collected in a dedicated bin and the water can pass through a special mesh of 0,25 mm and reach the final disinfection tank.
STAGE 3: Final disinfection
The third stage consists of a disinfection tank fitted with a special reactor for the multiple injection of the disinfectant and an inner mixing system. The reactor is designed in order to ensure the correct contact time between water and disinfectant.
