The electro-medical device that combines the benefits of ultrasound therapy with cold therapy.
The USF1 Physiocomputer is a medical device for physical therapy designed to combine ultrasound therapy (at 1 MHz) with cryotherapy (up to –9.9 °C). The synergy of the two therapeutic techniques eliminates the contraindication of ultrasound in acute and subacute trauma and in acute and subacute inflammatory states.
The cooled ultrasound head, placed in correspondence with the lesion to be treated, causes an initial dermal vasoconstriction followed by a strong vasodilation, while in depth a circulatory decrease is established (hemostasis process). The decrease in temperature in the deep tissue also creates an increase in the density of the tissue itself, with an increase in the mechanical effect of the ultrasound and with a completely canceled thermal effect. In capsuloligamentous injuries and inflammations of the musculoskeletal system it accelerates the healing process, with a faster recovery of movement due to the breaking of the pain-spasm-inactivity cycle.
Therefore this technique is particularly suitable for sports rehabilitation, where the rapid recovery of an injured athlete is made possible as USF1 allows both a recent trauma and an acute and sub-acute inflammatory state to be treated immediately.
