Box, medical device produced by Pegaso Box, company division of OMP Perego in La Valletta Brianza (Lecco province) is a recipient (box or panier) designed to contain, move and stock surgery instruments and accessories. Pegaso Box is entirely made of stainless steel with inserts of polymeric material and has a pierced structure that allows, during the sterilization phase inside an autoclave, the steam to flow through the different materials and components in order to ensure a perfect elimination of bacteria. However Pegaso Box does not offer a sterile barrier so it has to be used with a special sterilizing envelope if the content has to remain aseptic. Pegaso Box can be multilayer, adequately equipped with various inserts intended to contain in a precise position the surgical instruments during handling and storage. Pegaso Box is a Class I medical device, belonging to Class I “Accessories” according to the Directive 93/42 EEC and subsequent updates. Medical devices such as Pegaso Box must be handled and used only by specialized personnel of the healthcare industry, hospital staff and people trained to use these tools.
