Articulated arms are delivery systems guiding light from the laser source to the point of application. Optotek articulated arms are synonymous with high precision and reliability featuring:
Smooth movements
Large working area
No loss of intensity or degradation of mode quality
Counterbalance by either spring or weight mechanisms
Sealed articulated arms for outdoor and dusty applications as an option
Types and applications
Optotek articulated arms are used for applications in:
Medical lasers
Dental laser
Fine articulated conservation lasers
Industrial lasers
LIB spectroscopy etc.
The specifications and descriptions shown bellow indicate the range of parameters available. This is a starting point for a dialog that allows our design and manufacturing staff to meet the customer’s requirements.
Standard key specifications:
Number of joints: 7 (typical)
Clear aperture: 16 mm, 19 mm
Mirror – diameter x thickness: 25 x 3 mm, 28 x 3 mm
Adjustment tolerance – position: < 1 mm / meter of arm’s length
Adjustment tolerance – angle: < 1 mrad / meter of arm’s length
Other specifications:
Wavelength
A wide range of bending mirrors is available. Typical laser beams that can be transmitted by OPTOTEK articulated arms are: Er:YAG, CO2, Ruby, Nd:YAG, KTP, eximer, etc. In addition to specifying the wavelength, other laser beam parameters should be provided (average power, peak power, minimum spot size, pulse duration, etc).
Color
OPTOTEK articulated arms are painted with high quality paints of almost any color (RAL scale). Available are different kind of surface finishes (shiny, riffled etc.).
