CURACEL Haemostat gauze
CURACEL Haemostat gauze, based on oxidised regenerated cellulose. Gamma sterilised, single-use, 50 x 12.5mm, packed singly, 12 per box.
Curacel® is a sterile absorbable knitted fabric, prepared by the controlled oxidation of regenerated cellulose.
Curacel® provides haemostasis in surgical procedures to control capillary, venous and small arterial bleeding when binding, suturing or other conventional methods of control are impractical or ineffective.
Curacel® effects haemostasis by its low pH, which causes denaturing of the blood proteins albumin and globulin. The swollen mass of Curacel® saturated with blood aids clot formation. It is generally absorbed with minimal tissue reaction.
Curacel® is suitable for use in general and digestive surgery, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, gynaecology, urology, stomatology, traumatology and other branches of surgery.
Curacel® hemostat can be applied into cavities (after extirpation of tumors) as well as endoscopic surgical procedures.
Curacel® is manufactured in different dispensing forms which can cover any need for an effective haemostasis in different types of surgery.
