Fitting to a Bed: The Slide & Turn Hoist Sheet Item 509H is made into a large continuous tube of material. When this is placed on the bed the top part of the Hoist Sheet will slide across the material on the bottom part of the loop. There is a breathable foam pad sewn onto the bottom of the loop and this is placed directly onto the bed so it will be positioned under the patients hips and shoulders. The top of the loop of material is then positioned with the Lifting Straps either side of the bed and the re-enforcing tape will be positioned as near as possible to be under the patients hips and shoulders.
The Slide & Turn Hoist Top Keyhole Sheet Item 509HTK, is like the Slide and Turn Hoist Top Sheet Item 509HT, but it has Keyhole Plates to fit to Tilt Frame Hoists. The Keyhole Plates are fitted to the two Studs that normally have the Shoulder Keyhole Plate fitted to when using a lifting sling. The Keyhole Plates are on adjustable webbing. The webbing should be adjusted to be as short as possible when fitting to the hoist. This will allow the hoist to turn the patient without going too high. The webbing on the opposite side that the patient will be turned to, should have the webbing adjusted as long as possible so the patient does not roll onto the Keyhole Plates after they have been turned. The reasons for using a breathable Bed Slide Sheet apply the same as for the Slide and Turn Hoist Top Sheet Item 509HT.
