Description
The SPT-6 Suppository Penetration Tester is used to determine the softening time of six samples at the same time. It is made in strict compliance with the monograph of the EP Apparatus A. The samples are placed glass tubes filled with 10ml of medium. The testing rods are inserted and the test is started. The penetration time of the testing rods is measured.
The Apparatus needs to be placed into a suitable Plexiglas water bath. It is possible to use the SPT-6 in a Pharma Test Tablet Disintegration Tester of the type series PTZ S, DIST 3 or PTZ AUTO. Using it within the PTZ AUTO EZ instruments the softenting time can be detected automatically.
