Typical indicators for a calf augmentation with an implant are too thin or asymmetrical calves, a varus defect, or defects caused by neurological diseases. What many do not know is that our calf implants were originally developed for poliomyelitis patients.
For many people, however, the shape of their calves also contributes significantly to their appearance - whether delicate, defined or muscular. Thus, women often desire smooth and round calves, while men prefer strong and powerful calves. POLYTECH offers a selection of different calf implants that meet both ideals of beauty.
Depending on the application, our calf implants are symmetrical or anatomically shaped. Adapted to the patient's appearance, our calf implants can visually enhance the results of a muscle-building workout or even compensate for individual characteristics, such as tissue loss due to accident or illness.
Calf implants - like a real muscle
The shell of our calf implants is made of a very resistant and highly elastic silicone elastomer, into which a barrier layer is incorporated. These implants are filled with a highly cross-linked silicone gel, which feels very similar to real muscle tissue.
During the operation, the downward-running implant cavity is prepared by an incision about 5 cm long into the popliteal area. Depending on whether elegant or muscular calves are desired, the surgeon then inserts one or more implants. The smooth surface of our calf implants facilitates insertion and positioning.
