The cervical cage is a fusion cage with a free space which can contain graft. It produces excellent osteo-integration results.
It is meant for treating canine caudal cervical spondylomyelopathy due to :
Spinal cord compression due to degenerative disc disease.
Hypertrophy of the dorsal aspect of the annulus fibrosis.
Hypertrophy of the dorsal longitudinal ligament.
The implant made out of ISO 5832-3 Titanium consists of three elements:
1 Frame
1 Log traction bolt
1 Distraction frame log
Satin finish for the frame, and highly-polished finish for the traction bolt and the log.
The frame has two toothed outer sides for adhesion and distraction, and two slots provided for the cage holder.
Lengths: 15 and 18 mm.
Ajustable lordosis at 15°.
We have developed three instruments to facilitate the insertion of the cage:
A Rachis reamer
A trial cervical cage
A cervical cage holder.
Important: The window to insert the cage between the two vertebrae must be perpendicular to the spinal canal.
