PDL coating on the surface of polystyrene (PS) microplates enhances cell attachment and growth by increasing the number of positively charged sites for cell binding. The synthetic PDL coating is free from biological impurities and ensures no stimulation of biological activity or signalling pathways in cultured cell systems. PDL coated plates are popularly used for neuronal applications due to enhanced growth and survival of neuronal cells such as primary neurons and neuroblastomas as well as transfected cell lines, glial cells and adherent fibroblasts. PDL coated plates are also ideal for culture of cell lines such as HEK-293, L929, BHK-21, PC12 and, NSC-34.
