The TraceDec Contactless Conductivity Detector (CCD) is based on two metal electrodes, which are placed around the separation capillary, which can be of any non-conducting material (e.g. fused silica, PEEK, Teflon). After an AC voltage is applied to the actuator electrode, the current passes the capillary wall, the detection gap between the electrodes inside the capillary, and back to the pick-up electrode. The signal is then further amplified and processed. The CE-cell can be placed inside the temperature controlled capillary compartment. The detector can be used with any PrinCE and PrinCE Next system without using any tools.
