Examples are the oil, gas and chemicals industries. They can be supplied either in cast aluminium (standard type) or grade 316 stainless steel (suffix '-SS'). The detectors are fitted with a single sensor that can be an Infrared Sensor, for the detection of Hydrocarbon gases or Carbon Dioxide, a 'Pellistor' Catalytic Sensor for detection of both Hydrocarbon gases and Hydrogen or an Electrochemical Sensor for the detection of specific toxic gases and oxygen.
