ProSurg, Inc. has developed a cost effective, patented , Conductive Gel Technology for use with minimally invasive endoscopic application of Radio Frequency (R.F.) energy for tissue ablation. The use of Conductive Gel enables ProSurg R.F. eloectrodes to create a significantly larger zone of tissue necrosis (approx. 5-6 cm) using an 18 ga needle electrode. The R.F.Gel electrodes are compatible with all commercially available R.F. generators, Including VallyLab, Aspen, Conmed, ERBE, and others and requires no additional capital investment. The R.F.Gel electrodes can also be used in conjunction with an "Impedance Monitor" to monitor "real time" tissue impedance during tissue ablation.
It is also possible to achieve a larger zone of necrosis using conductive gel electrodes. The conductive gel, surrounding the needle tip R.F. electrode, creates a significantly larger "active" electrode. The active gel electrode area can be controlled by the amount of gel at the treatment site. The gel electrode can be positioned at a predetermined depth interstitially to achieve the controlled tissue ablation.
