Ankle and foot orthosis

Ankle/foot orthoses are custom-made or off-the-shelf orthopedic devices intended to support, compensate or immobilize the weakened joint. Different types of support orthosis can be fitted to the user depending on their pathology: Off-the-shelf or custom-made drop-foot supports used to keep the foot at a right angle. They are intended to compensate for ambulatory deficiencies and more precisely those caused by loss of dorsiflexion resulting in a steppage (or drop foot) gait.
