The Q-Plex™ Human Type 2 Immunity (5-Plex) is a fully quantitative plate-based multiplex ELISA for the detection of cytokines associated with type 2 immunity.
Functions of type 2 immunity include protecting the host, maintaining metabolic homeostasis, suppressing type 1 inflammation, barrier defense, and tissue regeneration. Like other immune responses, excessive or chronic activation of type 2 immunity can be harmful to the host. Allergic disease, inability to defend against pathogens, and fibrosis have been described as harmful actions of type 2 immunity.
Producers of type 2 cytokines include macrophages, mast cells, T cells, macrophages, monocytes, basophils, eosinophils, and natural killer cells. A variety of immune and non-immune cells have been noted to produce type 2 cytokine responses in response epithelial damage, release of alarmins, and antigen presentation/recognition.
Processing
All Quansys Q-Plex™ Multiplex and Singleplex assays require the use of the Q-View™ software to read and interpret the test results. A fully-functional, free trial version of the software is available to download, install, and use to analyze your first kit(s). At the end of the trial period, a purchased license is required to continue the use of the Q-View software.
Q-Plex™ arrays are developed and optimized to work with Q-View™ imagers. Quansys does not guarantee the results obtained from other imagers and not all imagers are compatible with Quansys Q-Plex arrays.
