R21 Smart Coating is an antimicrobial/antiviral treatment for permanent protection against biological contamination. With a single application it can protect the surface for 4 months. The disinfectant R21 Smart Coating®, thanks to its innovative composition, modifies the cell walls and membranes of microorganisms. After application, when the alcohol evaporates, there remains a network of three-dimensional nanostructures bound to the substrate that interact with the cell walls of the contaminants, causing an irreversible loss of cytoplasmic components and the inhibition of enzymatic processes. Quickly and effectively, these nanostructures damage the membranes, capsids and DNA and RNA strands of viruses. This continuous coating is a veritable armour plating that protects surfaces from the proliferation of bacteria, viruses and yeasts for a remarkably prolonged period of time, when other products in the same category are effective for only 5 minutes. The action of the nanostructured treatment creates a barrier against water and dirt, facilitating the removal of previously inactivated biological material. Thanks to its nanometric thickness, the coating is imperceptible to the naked eye and touch. Treated surfaces retain their original appearance and are not harmful to humans, animals or the environment.
