Sub miniature push-on (snap-on) connector, operating in the range DC-40 GHz 50 ohms / part series R222 (AEP 75XX) SMP connectors were introduced in the 2000s for high frequency blind mate applications and is standardized according to MIL-STD-348A fig. 326. A cost effective version SMP-COM (part series R222 9) is also available for telecom applications up to 12 GHz.
