The SAF uses 5,000 gentle vertical vibrations per minute, provided by the special RDT3 handpiece head.
The RDT3 handpiece head operates the SAF with a 0.4 mm amplitude vertical vibration and is designed to be operated at 5,000 rpm. The RDT3 also uses a slow, low-torque movement which rotationally repositions the SAF, allowing for ease of insertion and a uniform, circumferential preparation of the canal by the asymmetrical file.
The RDT3 handpiece head is designed to sustain prolonged exposure to sodium hypochlorite and is available in two models that fit a wide variety of low-speed endodontic motors’ handpieces.
RDT3 reciprocating dental handpiece attachment is intended for use in
root canal preparations using the Self Adjusting File, SAF (ReDent Nova,
Ra’anana Israel).
Device Description
RDT3 handpiece attachment is compatible with Kavo GENTLEpower
low-speed handpiece contra-angle sheath (a designated adaptor can be
used to comply with NSK and Midwest type handpieces). Designed to
sustain prolonged exposure to sodium hypochlorite, the RDT3 is able to
operate the SAF during root canal treatment procedures, while working
with continuous sodium hypochlorite irrigation.
This device is to be used by dental professionals only.
The RDT3 head should be sterilized before each use.
Due to operation in a hypochlorite environment, the RDT3
surface should be wiped after each treatment.
Do not fit or remove the RDT3 head during operation.
Do not exceed 5,000 oscillations per minute (5,000 rpm)
Use only with SAF files (ReDent Nova, Ra’anana, Israel)
Contact with soft tissue by the instrument head
