Blue-green algae contains a cyanobacterial toxin, which cannot be detected with the naked eye. Salofa's BlueGreenTest® cyanobacteria test reveals easily and quickly whether swimming or sauna water
contains blue-green algae toxins. It provides security for everyone staying near water.
The packaging box contains three test packing bags and three disposable gloves.
Each bag contains a sampling jar, pipette, and test cartridge.
In addition, you will need a clean bucket or similar large container for the water to be tested.
Using the quick test is easy
Fill the sampling jar with the water to be tested, causing the chemical reaction to heat the jar.
Wait ten minutes, then pipette water from the jar and drip it in the hole on the test cartridge.
The test result is readable after five minutes, at which time 1 or 2 lines will appear on the test cartridge.
One line at C means there are no toxins in the water.
Two lines are a sign of toxins.
See the package for more detailed instructions.
Note!
If you experience symptoms when using water, stop using the water even if the test is negative. For example, even a small amount of toxins in sauna steam can cause symptoms.
The test distinguishes the following toxins:
MC-LR, dm-MC-LR, MC-RR, dm-MC-RR, MC-LA, MC-LY, MC-LF, MC-YR, MC-WR, MC-LW, Nod-R. The product has been developed together with VTT Oy and the University of Turku and is sold under a licence granted by the University of Turku for the patent application WO2017109290.
