The IITC Hot Plate Analgesia test is used for latency testing in rats and mice. Parameters are entered via a keypad. The animals are placed on a black anodized aluminum plate which is heated uniformly. Upon seeing a withdrawal motion the foot switch is depressed to record the latency.
Temperature is indicated in 0.1 deg C. increments
Holding accuracy is +/- 0.1 deg C.

Set point temperature in Celsius.
The plate’s surface temperature range can be set from Current Temperature up to 75 degrees Celsius. The plate has consistent temperature throughout the selected temperature range providing accurate results.
All systems are supplied with both a mouse and rat enclosure which is easily changed to switch between species. Enclosures can be purchased separately.
