SCREENVET CIRCOVIRUS TIPO 2 AB
Porcine Circovirus 2 Ab Test
REF: SCV-1620-10
The rapid cassette test for the Type 2 Porcine Circovirus Antibody (PCV-2) (Serum/Plasma) is a rapid immunochromatographic test for the qualitative detection of porcine Circovirus Type 2 antibodies in porcine serum or plasma. The Swine Circovirus Type 2 Antibody Rapid Cassette Test (Serum/Plasma) is a qualitative membrane immunoassay based on the double antigen sandwich format for the detection of Porcine Circovirus Type 2 antibodies in serum or plasma . The membrane is pre-coated with Porcine Circovirus recombinant antigens. During the test, the porcine circovirus antibodies, if present in the serum or plasma sample, react with the porcine circovirus antigen that covers the test strip. The compound then migrates chromatographically upwards on the membrane by capillary action and reacts with the recombinant Porcine Circovirus antigens on the test line area of the membrane. If the specimen contains Porcine Circovirus antibodies, a colored line appears in the test line region indicating a positive result. If the specimen does not contain Porcine Circovirus Type 2 antibodies, a colored line will not form in the test line region indicating a negative result. As a procedural control, a colored line will always appear in the control line region, indicating that an adequate volume of sample has been used and that the membrane has soaked properly.
