SCREENVET MALATTIA NEW CASTLE
Animal’s Newcastle Disease Virus Ag Test
REF: SCV-2023-10
The Newcastle Disease Virus Antigen (NDV) rapid cassette test is a lateral scrolling immunochromatographic test for the qualitative detection of Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV Ag) in faeces or laryngotracheal secretions. The NDV Antigen rapid cassette test is based on a side scrolling sandwich immunochromatographic analysis. The test cassette has an analysis window. The analysis window is equipped with an invisible area of the T line (test) and one of the C line (control). During testing, the sample is poured into the sample well on the cassette. NDV antigens, if present in the sample, react with the anti-NDV antibodies that coat the oro-colloidal particles on the test strip. The compound then chromatographically migrates upward on the membrane by capillary action and reacts with the anti NDV antibodies on the membrane in the test line area. If the sample contains Newcastle Disease Virus a colored line will form in the test line area, indicating a positive result. If the sample does not contain NDV antigens, no colored line will form in the test line region, indicating a negative result. As a procedural control, a colored line will always form in the area of the test control line to indicate that sufficient sample volume has been used and the membrane has soaked properly.
