The Rapid Screen 1 Barbiturates Test (Urine) is a rapid lateral scroll immunochromatographic test for the detection of Barbiturates in human urine at the threshold-limit concentration of 300 ng / ml. This test also detects other compounds, please refer to the Analytical Specificity table in this package insert. Barbiturates are central nervous system depressants. They are used for therapeutic purposes as sedatives, hypnotics and anticonvulsants. Barbiturates are almost always taken orally in the form of tablets or pills. The effects are similar to those of alcohol intoxication. Chronic use of barbiturates leads to tolerance and physical dependence. Short-acting barbiturates taken in amounts of 400 mg / day for 2-3 months produce a clinically significant degree of physical dependence. Withdrawal symptoms experienced during periods of substance deprivation can be severe and can even lead to death. Only a small amount (less than 5%) of most barbiturates is eliminated unchanged in the urine. The detection period of barbiturates in urine is 4-7 days. The BAR Rapid Test (Urine) is a rapid urine control test that can be performed without the use of additional instruments. The test uses a monoclonal antibody to selectively detect high levels of barbiturates in urine. The BAR Rapid Test (Urine) provides a positive result when the Barbiturates in the urine exceed the threshold-limit level. (The 120ml urine container is supplied separately, you can buy it on the “Accessories” page).
