SCREENVET PERITONITE AG Product code: SCV-1118-10 FIPV Antigen is a Lateral Flow Immunochromatographic Rapid Cassette Test (Feces/Ascites) for the qualitative detection of Feline Infectious Peritonitis Virus Antigen (FIPV Ag) in feline faeces or ascites. FIPV Antigen is a lateral flow immunochromatographic rapid cassette test using the direct (or Sandwich) method. The cassette has a test window. The window has a T zone (test) and a control zone C (control). During the execution of the test, the sample is poured into the appropriate well (S) present on the cassette. FIPV antigens, if present on the stool sample or ascites, react with the pre-coated anti-FIPV antibodies on the test strip. The mixture then migrates upward on the membrane chromatographically by capillary action and reacts with anti-FIPV antibodies on the membrane in the test line region. If the sample contains FIPV antigens, a colored line will appear in the test line area indicating a positive result. If the sample does not contain FIPV antigens, no colored lines will appear in the test line region, indicating a negative result. As a procedural control function, a colored line will always appear in the control line area, indicating that the correct volume of sample has been added and that membrane imbibition has occurred.
