The Sercon Aqua is a high performance equilibration system optimised for the precise measurement of the stable isotopes of hydrogen and oxygen isotopes in water. The Aqua is available in both continuous flow and dual inlet mode and provides optimal performance for a wide range of samples, including fruit juices, wine, and other aqueous solutions. Gas samples may also be measured such as breath or biogas. Up to 220 samples may be analysed in a single unattended run. The heated sample block in which the vials are placed is temperature controlled to within 0.1°C to ensure precise data for temperature dependent equilibration reactions. δ18O and δ2H measurements are made via headspace equilibration with CO2 and H2 respectively. These measurements can be made separately or sequentially. δ2H measurements require the use of a platinum catalyst which is provided with the system. When interfaced to the Sercon HS2022 (continuous flow) or GEO-HS2022 (dual inlet), the Aqua provides excellent precision, high sensitivity, and exceptional performance with minimum maintenance.
FEATURES
Sample tray holds up to 200 6 ml or 12 ml vials which can be analysed in a single, unattended run. Alternative trays can be provided for larger vials
The hyphenated Aqua-HS2022 system generates high precision isotopic data for water and other aqueous samples. The high sensitivity source in the HS2022 ensures excellent precision
The flexible system also allows gas analysis such as CO2 in breath, or carbonate / DIC measurements if acid is injected into the vials manually (the Sercon µCarbs provides an automated alternative)
