Description

DMEM/F-12 (Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium / Nutrient Mixture F-12) is a basal medium that is widely used to support the growth of various mammalian cells. Cells including MDCK, neurogliocytes, fibroblasts, human endothelial cells and rat’s fibroblasts are successfully cultured in this medium. This product is a 1:1 mixture of DMEM Medium and Ham’s F-12 Medium and is ideal to culture various cell types under reduced serum condition. DMEM is a modification of BME (Basal Medium Eagle) with 4X more concentrated amino acids and vitamins. Ham’s F-12 is a modification of Ham’s F-10 Medium, with a significant increase in concentrations of choline, inositol, putrescine and several amino acids. BasalMedia can provide a series of modified DMEM/F-12 Medium based on the standard formulations to fulfill different needs of cell cultivation. (Please refer to each product’s formulation.) The product is prepared using water-for-injection.
