Description

Fetal bovine serum is a clear light yellow liquid derived from clotted fetal bovine blood after removing fibrinogen and some blood clotting factors in plasma. It can be widely used in cell culturing as it contains abundant amount of nutrients for cell growth. Fetal bovine serum contains various types of nutrients needed for maintaining cell growth including amino acids, vitamins, inorganic substances and lipids. It also contains several growth-stimulating hormones, growth factors and binding proteins including insulin, hydrocortisone, dexamethasone, bFGF, EGF, PDGF and transferrin. Furthermore, serum has the ability to detoxify, buffer and inhibit protease activity to prevent cells from damages. This product is collected from healthy cattle in China and is produced following the process of sterile acquisition, automated batching mixing, filtering and repacking using grade 3 100nm filters and radiated with gamma ray.
