The Bioaerosol Atomizer (BANG) is a unique atomizer designed to generate water-based aerosols at low airflow rates. Although BANG is based on the aerosol atomization principle of the Collison atomizer, its design has been modified to minimize the foaminess of the protein solution, thereby increasing the microbial vitality in the bioaerosol while maximizing aerosol output.
Product Features (BANG Bioaerosol Atomizer)
The main feature of the BANG is the ability to operate in a one-way mode, with the liquid sample supply controlled externally by a dosing pump. This avoids recycling bioaerosol solutions, which produce low viability due to the cells’ physical damage when subjected to repeated shear and impact forces. Standard BANG models operate at 2 to 16 liters per minute, depending on the number of jets and input air pressure.
