HPV-DNA is a mandatory screening test for cervical cancer in women regulated by the FDA.
Cervical cancer is currently the only cancer with a clear cause. HPV infection with the high-risk HPV is found in 97% of cervical cancer patients.
High-risk types of HPV -- especially HPV16 and HPV18 -- cause genital warts, external genital cancer, cervical cancer and high cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.
