A drug-testing program will only be successful if it accurately detects people who have used drugs. If someone thinks they may test positive on an upcoming drug test, they may attempt to cheat to obtain a negative result. There are a few ways in which people attempt to do this, but certain measures can be taken to detect sample tampering and/or prevent it from happening. Specimen validity tests determine whether a urine specimen has been adulterated, diluted, or substituted to obtain a negative result, or is invalid. In addition to our extensive Syva® drugs-of-abuse testing menu, Siemens Healthineers offers five specimen validity tests to help you determine if you are testing a valid urine sample.
