Description

LIAC was the predocessor of LIAC HWL. Stable, compact and reliable, LIAC performed thousands of IOeRT treatments and has a proven record: a single Italian institution has performed more than 10.000 IOeRT treatments with it! LIAC is available in two models: – model 10 MeV, with energies 4, 6, 8 and 10 MeV; – model 12 MeV, with energies 6, 8, 10 and 12 MeV. FLEXIBLE & EASY TO USE LIAC weighs only 400 kg (1257 lb). It is SIT lightest IOeRT accelerator. Its flexible architecture allows to easily perform a fast hard-docking procedure ensuring proper coverage of any anatomic region where the IOeRT treatment shall be delivered. LIAC HWL captures the scene in the OR only when the target is ready to be irradiated and leaves immediately after treatment is delivered. EASY TRANSPORTATION Because of its dimensions (210x76x180cm add inch) LIAC can be easily moved from one operating room to another and from one floor to another with any stretcher elevator. POWERFUL & SAFE Adequate energy and applicator selection allows the target treatment with a thickness of up to 3.8 cm inside the 80% isodose (up to 3.2 cm inside the 90% isodose). The radioprotection disk temporarily inserted between the mammary gland and the chest wall fully protects the healthy tissue underneath. NO NEED OF STRUCTURAL MODIFICATIONS TO THE OPERATING ROOM For its installation and deployment, LIAC requires no structural changes to the OR. A high workload is always possible at any floor thanks to the modular horizontal shield.
