Tidespon is a sterile biocompatible, implantable, absorbable gelatin sponge with hemostatic effect, produced from pharmaceutical purified porcine gelatin used to take control of bleeding during the operation. When it is applied to the hemorrhage site, it adheres to the bleeding surface and absorbs blood or fluids approximately 35 times of its own weight. Tidespon is absorbed completely within 3-4 weeks when implanted into tissue, however; the amount of usage, depending on the applied field to absorb may change. Sterility: Gamma Rays (R).
